Three has been offering 5G home broadband for a long time, but now it has made the technology accessible to even more homes, as it has launched the 5G Outdoor Hub.
Previously, you had to install your 5G broadband indoors, which meant – without the help of external antennas – you had to rely on a 5G signal penetrating the building if you hoped to get online. But Three’s 5G Outdoor Hub is instead installed outside.
That means it’s much better at locking on to 5G signals, so households that couldn't previously get 5G home broadband on Three may now be able to, and those that could, may now get higher and more reliable speeds with the Three 5G Outdoor Hub.
Along with the Hub itself, you’ll also be provided with an Eero Wi-Fi router – so you install the Three 5G Outdoor Hub outside, and then it will connect to your Eero router inside, to blanket your home in 5G-powered Wi-Fi.
And while you might assume that an outdoor option like this would need an engineer to install it, the Three 5G Outdoor Hub is actually easy to install yourself, and you have four options for how to do it – you can mount it to a wall, a pole, a window, or use a supplied temporary stand to house it inside (though by doing that you lose the benefits of an outdoor solution).
Better yet, Three’s 5G Outdoor Hub is extremely affordable, with a 24-month contract costing just £24 per month – and the first six months being half price at £12.
