About Motorola

Motorola doesn’t make as many phones as some companies, but it makes three distinct kinds, and it excels at them all.

These include affordable phones in the Moto G and Moto E lines, mid-range and high-end handsets in the Motorola Edge line, and foldable phones which have the Motorola Razr name.

For a long time Motorola was primarily a budget brand, but in recent years its premium handsets have competed with the best phones from the likes of Samsung and Google too.

Why choose Three for your Motorola phone?

Whichever phone brand you choose, Three is a great network to pair it with, as it offers competitive prices, excellent 5G speeds, widespread coverage, and extras, such as access to its Three+ rewards app.

With Three, you also get Wi-Fi Calling, 4G Calling, inclusive tethering, and the option of unlimited data. Some Three plans also come with additional extras, such as free roaming, an extended warranty, a free screen repair, and a subscription to Paramount Plus.

Which Motorola phones support 5G?

The majority of Motorola phones support 5G, including the likes of the Motorola Razr 40, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, and the Motorola Edge 40. Generally if you’re buying a Razr or Edge model then 5G will be supported, but some Moto G and Moto E phones don’t support it.

Which Motorola phone should I choose?

Which Motorola phone you should choose will depend on whether you want a high-end handset, an affordable handset, or a foldable phone. Highlights though include the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, which is a high-end foldable flip phone, and the Motorola Edge 40, which is an accomplished upper mid-range handset with a competitive price.

Top Motorola phone

The top Motorola phone at the time of writing is arguably the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra. This has a 6.9-inch foldable screen with an extremely high 165Hz refresh rate, plus a 3.6-inch cover screen, so you can check notifications and line up selfies without ever flipping the phone open.

Other highlights include a powerful chipset, 8GB of RAM, a stylish design, and a long-lasting battery.

Most affordable Motorola phone

Motorola’s most affordable phones are the ones in the Moto E range. At the time of writing, the cheapest of these that’s readily available is the Moto E13.

This has a 6.5-inch 720 x 1600 screen, a big 5,000mAh battery, a 13MP camera, and 64GB of storage. It’s a basic phone as you’d expect, but it’s very affordable.

Top value Motorola phone

Value is very subjective, but the Motorola Edge 40 is arguably one of the best value Motorola phones.

This has a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a super-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, fast 68W charging, a capable 50MP main camera, an under-display fingerprint sensor, a fairly high-end design, and a decent amount of power, all for a mid-range price. Those are the highlights, but the rest of the specs are solid too.

Latest Motorola phones

The Motorola Razr 40 and the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra are among the latest Motorola phones at the time of writing.

These are both clamshell foldable phones, with the Razr 40 Ultra standing out through having a higher refresh rate on its main screen, a larger cover screen, more power, and a more premium build. However, it’s also more expensive, and yet has a smaller battery and fewer megapixels in its main camera than the standard Motorola Razr 40.

Motorola in summary

Motorola has been making phones for a long time, and while for a lot of that it was known primarily for affordable handsets, these days it’s also one of the biggest names in foldable phones.

So whether you want a great value affordable phone, a clamshell foldable, or a traditional mid-range or high-end handset, Motorola should have something to suit.
