The Google Pixel 7a is a mid-range Pixel that aims to give you many of the excellent specs of the Pixel 7 at a lower price and in a smaller size.

It has a 6.1-inch screen, which makes it fairly compact, and the smallest of the current Pixel models. That makes the Pixel 7a ideal for one-handed use, but still large enough to display and interact with apps comfortably.

It also benefits from an FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, which are specs that match the Pixel 7 and make for vibrant visuals and smooth interactions.

You also get just as much power in the Google Pixel 7a as the Pixel 7, as it has the same Tensor G2 chipset as that phone, and even as the Pixel 7 Pro. This is a clever, bespoke chipset that only Google has access to.

The Google Pixel 7a also has an impressive selection of cameras, with a 64MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide one, and a 13MP front-facing camera. In terms of the number of megapixels, it actually has the standard Pixel 7 beat on all three lenses.

It also has a marginally bigger 4,385mAh battery, despite having a smaller screen to power, and there’s wireless charging here too.

That’s not the only premium perk, as the Pixel 7a also has an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, and it has a healthy 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

That’s all wrapped up in a stylish, distinctive design, and the phone comes with the promise of day one software updates to new versions of Android.
